DAY 1 - Richmond, VA

We arrived to the International Learning Center just outside of Richmond, VA this afternoon. Our flight was smooth. No problems. Thank you to everyone who prayed for our travel. However, we weren't quite prepared for the heat. We've spent the summer in Texas, so we are spoiled by no means, but the heat here is brutal. It's like walking through butter. I think I heard that it was 98-degrees today with what has to be near 90% humidity. You can literally see the air that you are walking through (and not because it's smog).

After registering and receiving our housing assignment we gathered our FIVE suitcases and darted, then strolled, then panted, then drug our wilting bodies to our room. We should have no problem dropping a few pounds over the next few months simply by walking from our room to training sessions or meals.

We are staying upstairs and the hallway seems to serve as the heat trap for the entire building. The thermostat says that it is 99-degrees in the hall. But our room has cooled down now that we cranked up the A/C. Praise God for A/C. Thank you to all of those who prayed for our attitudes here. This heat and our housing location began to become a source for the much anticipated negative attitude. But your prayers remind me to stay the course and keep my eyes on Christ, who suffered much more than a little walking and heat. Please continue to pray that our eyes remain fixed on Christ and our attitudes positive.

Being the first day and all here at ILC I think this post will suffice. Angie and I plan to take turns writing to tell you of life during these next two months. Keep checking back and subscribe to our rss (but don't ask me about how or what to do with this. It's beyond my current span of knowledge.). Until we share these words again, Hold Fast.
